Working with the Dock on the Apple Watch

In this lesson for the Apple Watch we take a closer look at the Dock and how we can access recent apps or favorite apps on the Apple Watch.

Accessing the Dock
If you recall, to access the Dock we push in the Button on the side of your Apple Watch. When you do this, your Apple Watch will show you either your recent apps you’ve had open on your Apple Watch or favorite apps. This is configured in the Watch app on your iPhone. You can access the Dock while you are in any app or viewing a watch face.

Removing an App from the Dock
To remove an app from the dock, you first open the dock then scroll to the app you want to remove. Don’t tap on it, just swipe over to the left. while in the Dock.

Setting what the Dock Shows
As I mentioned before, the Dock can show your recent open apps or your favorite apps. This is setup in the Watch app on the iPhone. While in the Watch app on your iPhone, make sure you have My Watch selected in the lower left corner. From their select Dock. When you tap on Dock, you will have two settings, Recents and Favorites. Just tap on what you want your Dock to show. If you select Favorites, you’ll see a list of apps at the bottom of your display. From there you can select which apps you want to show in your Dock by tapping on Edit in the upper right hand corner. When in Edit mode, you’ll see Do Not Include. The apps below this are not going to be included in your Dock. Tap on the green ‘+’ to include them. If they are included, tap on the red ‘-‘ to remove them. You can also reorder how they are shown in your dock by dragging the three horizontal lines on the right of each app.
