Highlighting Text

In this lesson for the Books app on the Mac, I look at how you highlight text by color or underline and then how you can find all your highlighted text in the Books app on the Mac.

Highlighting Text
To highlight text, you first select the text you want to highlight. Once you select it, you’ll see a menu popup with various options. The first option shows you color circles and the letter A underlined. These are the highlights that are available. Just click on the highlight option you want, and your text will be highlighted. To change the highlight, you just click on your highlighted text and in the menu that pops up, select a different highlight.

Viewing all your Highlighted Text
To see all your text that is highlighted, you go to the toolbar, and on the left side, there is a ‘Notes’ button. Click on this button to see all your text that is highlighted. The list shows you the chapters that your highlighted text is in. Click on the triangle on the left side of the chapter to view the individual pages. To go to the page, click on the page number.

Removing Highlights from Text
To remove highlights from your text, you click on the selected text on the page, then in the menu that pops up, select “Remove Highlight”.
