Automatic iOS Software Updates

In this lesson for What’s New on the iPad with iOS 12 we look at the Software Update option we have to keep our iPad’s iOS software updated.

Accessing Software Update
You can now have your iPad keep its iOS software updated automatically. When this setting is on and there is an update for the iOS on your iPad, you’ll get an alert saying there is an update. After that, your iPad will automatically update its iOS when it is on a wi-fi network and it is plugged in. To access this setting to turn it on or off, you need to go to the Settings app on your iPad. Under General, you’ll see Software Update (Settings>General). Just tap on this to set if you want automatic updates for your iPad. This does not affect apps that have been downloaded through the App store, this only affects iOS software.
