Love and Dislike Stories

In this lesson for the News app on the iPad, I look at how to love a story, so you see more stories like that in the future, and how you dislike a story, to see fewer stories like that in the future.

Loving a Story
When you love a story, Apple News will show more stories like that in the future. It will show these stories in the Today topic. To love a story, you first open it up and then tap on the heart icon at the bottom of the story or article. Any story that is loved will show a solid heart. Tap on the solid heart again to no longer mark a story as loved.

Disliking a Story
When you dislike a story, Apple News will show you fewer stories like that in the future in the Today topic. To dislike a story, you first open it up and then tap on the heart with a line through it at the bottom of the story. Just like when you love a story, the icon will turn solid. To turn this off, you tap on it again.

Seeing which Stories you’ve Loved and Disliked
To see which stories or articles you’ve loved and dislike, you go to your history. To view your history, you swipe up on the left sidebar. Towards the bottom you will see History. This shows you all of your articles you’ve read. Any article you’ve loved or disliked will show the heart or the heart with a line through it. Open up the story to change the status.
