Viewing Business News and Stock Information

In this lesson for Tutor for the Stocks app on the iPhone, I look at the new redesigned Stocks app on the iPhone with iOS 12. This includes how to view general financial news, news about a specific stock, and how we can see the stock price for the day, how much a stock has gone up or down for the day and the current market cap for the stock in the Stocks app on the iPhone.

Viewing General Financial News
To view general financial or business news, you just tap on Business News at the bottom of the Stocks App. You can also ‘pull’ this card up by swiping up from the bottom. Click on any article to read it. To get back to all the news, you can just swipe the News card back down.

Seeing News about a Specific Stock
To see the news related to a specific stock, you just tap on the stock symbol. When you do this, the news card will open with news pertaining to the stock you selected.

Viewing Current Stock Price, Percentage of Gain or Loss, and Market Cap
To view the current stock price, the percentage the stock has gained or lost through the day, or the current market cap, just tap on the number to the right of the stock symbol. When you do this, the number will change or cycle through stock price, gain or loss, and market cap. If the number is red, the stock went down for the day, if it is green it went up for the day.
