Opening the Camera

In this video we’re going to take a look at the different ways we can open up the camera.

Tap on the Camera Icon from Lock Screen
With some iPhones, when you are on your lock screen, you’ll see a camera icon in the lower right corner. When you tap and hold on it, the camera opens.

Swipe Left from Lock Screen
When you are on the lock screen, you can also just swipe to the left. When you do this, the camera will open.

From Notification Center
When you are looking at your notifications, you can swipe to the left to open the camera. This works great when you are in an app. Just open your notifications and swipe left.

From the Control Center
In the Control Center you’ll see a Camera icon. Tap on it to open the camera. If you press down slightly on it (use 3d touch), you’ll be able to open the camera in certain modes including selfie mode, video mode, slo-mo mode, or portrait mode. Your iPhone does need to have 3d touch for this feature to work.

From the Home Screen
This one is a no brainer, tap on the Camera app icon. But if your iPhone has 3d touch, you can press on the app icon and open your camera into certain modes including selfie, video, and portrait mode.

With Siri
Of course you can always ask Siri to open up your camera.
