Searching for Reminders and Organizing Lists

In this lesson for Reminders on the iPad, we take a look at how to search for your reminders and we also look at how to manage your various Reminders lists.

Searching for your Reminders
To search your Reminders, you tap in the Search field in the upper left corner, above your lists. Your results will show below the Search field. When you look at your results, you will also see the Reminders list that the reminder is in.

Creating a List for your Reminders
To create a list for your reminders, just tap on ‘Add List’ in the lower left corner of your iPad. When you tap on ‘Add List’ you’ll be able to name the list and select a color for the list. Tap on ‘Done int he upper right corner when you are finished creating your list.

Deleting a List
To delete a list, you just swipe from the right side to the left side of the list name you want to delete. If you swipe halfway across, you can tap on Delete, if you swipe all the way across, the list will be deleted. You can also tap on ‘Edit’ in the lower right corner below your lists to delete multiple lists. Tap on the red circle when in edit mode to delete a list.

Sorting your Reminders Lists
To sort your lists, you tap on ‘Edit’ in the lower right corner below the lists. Then just drag the three lines up and down to the right of the list name you want to move. When finished, tap on ‘Done’ in the lower right corner.

Scheduled List
If you have any reminders with a date in them, you can find them in the Scheduled list. Any reminder in this list is still listed in the original list they were created in, but they also show here.

Editing a List
To edit a list, such as change the name or color, you first tap on the list you want to edit. Then tap on ‘Edit’ int he upper right corner. Don’t tap on ‘Edit’ in the lower right corner of your lists, this only allows you to delete and reorder your lists. You want to tap on ‘Edit’ in the upper right corner. When you do that, you can change the name, change the color, and set up sharing for the list.
