Apple Announcements at WWDC 2016

Apple WatchApple made a number of announcements at their Worldwide Developer Conference on June 13, 2016. The announcement basically laid out Apple’s plans for the operating systems for the Mac, iPad, iPhone, Apple TV, and the Apple Watch.

What’s new? Quite a bit actually. More syncing and coordination between our Macs and iOS devices. More content and better search for Apple TV. A faster and redesigned Apple Watch OS. I personally think this is all great and I am looking forward these changes. But I believe the bigger news is how they opened up new API’s for developers. Developers can now build apps that work directly with Siri, Messages, and Maps. How does this help? Apple made a great demonstration with the Maps app. Instead of looking for just a restaurant, now you’ll be able to find a restaurant, book a table, book Uber to get there, and see where Uber is – all within the Maps app. You no longer need to switch between multiple apps. Now the developers need to build these capabilities into their apps, but from what I’ve read, developers seem to be pretty excited. I’m excited to see what they come up with myself.

If you’d like to see what’s coming for the Mac, iPad and iPhone, Apple TV, and Apple watch – Apple has posted some new pages giving a good highlight of what’s new. If you have more time, you can also watch the keynote.

How does this affect me and Noteboom Tutorials? More tutorials. :)
