Keyboard Preferences

In this lesson we cover the different preferences we can set for our keyboard. The categories in keyboard preferences include keyboard, text, shortcuts, and input sources. We can change how the keys on our keyboards behave in the keyboard category – such as setting the top row of keys to be used as function keys or how fast we want a key to repeat. If you have a backlit keyboard, you can set preferences for how the keyboard brightness keys behave here. The text category is where we set up auto-fill text. The shortcut category is where we set up key commands – different combinations of keys pressed together at the same time to make a specific action happen. And finally, the input source simply changes what language we are typing in.
